| DESCANSO BEACH OCEAN SPORTS, INC. (DBOS) / Catalina Island Kayak Expeditions was created in April of 1994 by Mary Stein and Randy Brannock, wife & husband, who have been working together since 1980. First, as commercial divers, and for 9 years as co-owners of Catalina Divers Supply (CDS). CDS is one of the oldest scuba dive shops in California, established in 1958. While owners (1986-1995), Mary & Randy added their years of experiences on the water plus their positions as former youth leaders to integrate personal snorkel tours and underwater education programs into the already successful scuba business. The opportunity to take their business knowledge and start an entirely new venture utilizing the fast-growing kayak industry came in 1994. Since its inception, DBOS has continued to grow and introduce thousands of men, women & children to the wonders of Catalina Islands natural world through the experiences of kayaking and snorkeling. A friendly and talented crew continue their tradition of outstanding customer service, sharing their love and respect for Catalina Island to all visitors. Were a family-oriented and family-operated business . . .come out to the island and meet us ! | ||

| Auroura
Vickers (daughter) grew up on Catalina Island enjoying the island's interior
riding horses. Her son, Joseph and daughter, Abbey Rose are sure to follow
in her hoofprints, while her husband, Johnny, is more at home playing music
in a couple local bands. Auroura spent some summer vacation time as a girl
working in our snorkle business at Lover's Cove, and has in depth knowledge
of all of the aspects of DBOS. In addition to the bookkeeping, she'll help
you make reservations and answer your questions. |

Jake Brannock (son) has been with DBOS since our beginning. He brings his lifetime of growing up on the island, his knowledge of the ocean as a surfer, kayaker, outrigger paddler and fisherman, his knowledge of the island's interior as a camper and hiker, and mostly his love of Catalina Island. He is our Guide Trainer in addition to keeping our crew operating at peak potential, and making sure our equipment is always top notch! Jake's wife, Tiffany, works outside of DBOS and shares the rearing of their two island-exploring boys, Morgan and Kayden. |
